Our doctors are committed to providing the very best quality medical and surgical care in a compassionate and considerate manner. They place a strong emphasis on client education so that you are educated about how to keep your pet healthy and happy. With more than 40 years of combined experience in treating Orange County Area pets, our veterinarians take a team oriented approach to medical care, sharing ideas and expertise on difficult cases. The older vets provide wisdom gained through experience and the newer vets bring innovative new treatment and surgical options.. and your pet benefits!
All the veterinarians on our team share an exceptionally strong commitment to continuing education. Each doctor attends conferences, seminars, and regular training opportunities each year. The doctor's meet regularly to share knowledge gained from continuing education, discuss cases, and strategize about ways to provide the very best medical care to their patients and service to their clients. But, what really makes our doctors so special? It's all about caring!
Lisa D. Mandelin, DVM
Dr. Mandelin was born in Seattle, Washington and raised in sunny Southern California. She graduated from the Bishop’s Schools of La Jolla,California, and soon thereafter made her way to Fairbanks, Alaska where she attended the University of Alaska on an athletic scholarship in volleyball. She spent the next 8 years in Alaska before heading south to ‘thaw out’ in sunny Clearwater, Florida. Prior to her career in veterinary medicine, Dr. Mandelin pursued a career in the human medical field. In the 90’s she studied orthopedic and emergency medicine while serving as a medic in the US Army National Guard in Texas and Colorado. After her military service she was Lead Orthopedic Technician for a busy orthopedic surgery department in Denver, Colorado and also worked in emergency rooms and nursing homes in Denver and Fort Collins, Colorado. It was during these years of working in the human medical field that Dr. Mandelin was introduced to the field of veterinary medicine. Her goal of going to medical school to become an MD quickly morphed into the goal of going to veterinary school….and she has never looked back! After graduating from Veterinary College at Colorado State University in 1998, Dr. Mandelin practiced briefly in San Diego before accepting a position as the medical director of a small clinic near Palm Springs, California. Two years later, she would go on to purchase her own practice. After successfully tripling the size of that practice, she sold and became a private contractor of veterinary medical services for numerous emergency and day practice clinics throughout California and Florida. We are pleased to have Dr. Mandelin join our team at Moulton Animal Hospital. Her experience in the human medical field has allowed her to create a unique and much-desired blend of high quality veterinary medicine. Her special interests include Emergency Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, General Wellness and Chinese Acupuncture. In her spare time she enjoys running half marathons (she has 12 planned for 2012!), sailing, kayaking, bicycling and loving on her furry children….Mina, Fu Manchu, Levon and D’Accord and Shiloh.
