Moulton Animal Hospital has added a powerful new tool to help us better care for your pets. The IDEXX Lasercyte CBC (Complete Blood Count) Hematology machine allows us to perform very important hematology blood analysis in-house so that when time counts we can do comprehensive blood analysis in minutes. We often send blood work away to our outside lab, but there is a 12-24 hour delay for blood work sent out to the local lab. In some situations, such as with a sick pet needing an immediate diagnosis or with pre-anesthetic testing when there is not time for sending out blood work, it is better to be able to do the analysis immediately, in-house.
Our new CBC machine complements our IDEXX Vet Test Blood Chemistry Machine and Electrolyte Machine to allow us to do much more comprehensive blood testing to help identify illness, disease, organ dysfunction and many other conditions in a matter of minutes.
